When a Pool Pump Needs Attention

Common symptoms include loss of prime, weak return flow, leaking at the pump, unusual noise, intermittent operation or a motor that will not start. The cause may be in the wet end, motor, seal, electrical supply, plumbing or another restriction in the circulation system.

A proper diagnosis distinguishes a repairable component from a pump that is no longer worth repairing.

Repairable Pump Problems

Depending on the pump and its condition, service may involve seals, lids, baskets, impellers, diffusers, unions, motors or control components. Parts availability varies by manufacturer and model.

Variable-Speed Pump Replacement

When replacement is appropriate, a variable-speed pump can provide quieter operation and more flexible scheduling. Correct sizing and programming matter; the pump must support the pool’s filtration, cleaning, heating and water-feature requirements.

Before Your Appointment

Tell us the pump brand and model, the symptoms, any displayed error code and whether the problem is constant or intermittent. A photo of the equipment label can be helpful.
