La Crescenta Pool Heater Repair Tips
Swimming pool heating systems are designed to withstand internal temperatures because of their construction and insulation. Included in the safety and control loop are switches that detect overheating. These are called Hi Limit switches, and typically there are two in case one fails to shut the heater down. These are normally rated at 135 and 150 degrees respectively. Essentially, this is a back up protection if the pressure switch fails (detects water flow, indicating system is circulating) and the unit ignites. There is also a regulator in the header that allows only a portion of the water to enter the heat exchanger (above the flames) and be heated. This regulator can fail and cause overheating as well. Whether you reside in La Canada, Tujunga or La Crescenta, pool heater repair calls require our service team to consider these and other factors that may cause secondary and tertiary failures. A faulty regulator can cause such cycling that on some units the heat exchanger may crack and cause a leak. If you notice your system cycling off and on, or making a banging noise or rocking, be sure to shut it off right away, and call a professional.
